The tangerine

The tangerine is a group of orange citrus fruits formed by hybrids of mandarin with some contribution of grapefruit.

Citrofrut is the most important processor of this fruit in our country. With focus on the Dancy variety, we have developed over 350 hectares of this fruit.

This citrus fruit is rich in vitamins C, B1, B2 and B6, flavonoids, beta-carotene and essential oils. It also contains potassium, calcium, and magnesium as well as iron, zinc, fiber, and phosphorus.

Fiber and hesperidin are concentrated in the membranes and white threads of the segments.

That is why at Citrofrut we not only take care of the production of the fruit, but also the derived products, such as the peel and extracts.

Tangerine fruit trees

Citrus reticulatas (the tangerine fruit trees) is a tree that belongs to the botanical genus Citrus, in the Rutaceae family (with more than 1600 species) with characteristics similar to the orange tree, although smaller and spheroid in shape. The pulp of its fruit is formed by a considerable number of segments filled with juice that contain a large amount of vitamin C, flavonoids and essential oils.
